Dr. Manning obtained her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed Triple Board combined residency and fellowship training in pediatrics, adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. In addition to her work with PediPRN, Dr. Manning sees patients on the pediatric psychiatry consultation service at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. She specializes in treating youth with medical complexity. Dr. Manning’s research interests include evaluating the effects of peer mentorship on health outcomes for youth with chronic physical conditions as well as improving behavioral health education for trainees and primary care providers. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family and cooking.
Richard M. Smith, MD
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr. Smith is an attending child and adolescent psychiatrist at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Yale and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His psychiatric residency and fellowship training was at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Maryland. Dr. Smith has extensive experience treating children of all ages in outpatient and community mental health settings, as well as on the Hasbro integrated medical psychiatric unit (Selya 6). He has an appointment as clinical assistant professor at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. In his free time Dr. Smith is an avid baker and hiker.
Wei Song, MD
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr. Song obtained her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and completed Triple Board combined residency and fellowship training in pediatrics, adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at University of Utah. In addition to her work with PediPRN, Dr. Song sees a wide range of patients in her outpatient work at Bradley and Newport Hospitals as well as through Gateway. In her spare time, Dr. Song enjoys creative writing and caring for her adorable Syrian hamster.
Shannon L. Terkell, MD
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Shannon Terkell, MD is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Gateway and at the Bradley Outpatient Department. She completed her undergraduate education at Brown University, received her medical degree from St. George’s University, and completed her general psychiatry residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Healthcare System (now known as the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell) and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University where she is a clinical assistant professor in the department of psychiatry and human behavior. Dr. Terkell enjoys seeing patients with a range of ages and clinical needs.
Michelle Parker, MD
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr Parker is an attending child and adolescent psychiatrist at Bradley Hospital. Dr. Parker received her bachelor’s degree in human physiology from Boston University and her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her residency training in general adult psychiatry as well as her fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Parker treats children 0-18 years old in the outpatient setting and has a special interest in early childhood and autism spectrum and developmental disorders. Outside of work, Dr. Parker is an avid traveler, enjoys indoor cycling and is a huge Disney fan.
Rachel Olfson, MD
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Rachel Olfson, MD, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Bradley Hospital in the Intensive Program for OCD and Related Disorders and Outpatient Services. She is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. Dr. Olfson earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College, and she completed combined residency training through the Triple Board Program (pediatrics, general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry) at Tufts Medical Center and served as chief resident during her final year. Her areas of interest include OCD, anxiety and mood disorders, systems of care, and clinical education. In her free time, she enjoys reading and going for walks with her family, and golden doodle.
Cameron Jacobs
Clinical Coordinator
Cameron (he/him) joins PediPRN as its Clinical Coordinator. He graduated with his MPH from Brown University in 2023 with an independent concentration in LGBTQ Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health. Prior to joining PediPRN, he worked in the health insurance industry for 7 1/2 years and has extensive experience navigating benefits and authorizations for providers and patients. Cameron will help RI pediatric providers support their patients with access to behavioral health resources and referrals. Through our new and expanded database, PediPRN can provide referrals by location, in-person vs telehealth, expertise with specific diagnoses, insurance coverage, and treatment approach. Community resources, educational materials, and electronic tools for providers and for parents/children are also available.
